Anat Zohar
Anat Zohar is a full professor in the Seymour Fox School of Education in the Hebrew University. She holds the Besen chair for Integrative Studies in Education and is also a faculty member in Mandel Leadership Institute. Between 2006-2009 she served as Director of Pedagogy in the Ministry of Education. In this role she led a system-wide, educational change process, focusing on implementing higher order thinking and deep understanding across the curriculum (“Pedagogcial Horizon”). Her academic research addresses the following fields: science education, learning and instruction, the development of students’ reasoning (higher order thinking, HOT), metacognition, teachers’ professional development in the context of higher order thinking, gender and science education, gender and gifted education, bridging the gap between educational policy and changes in learning and instruction, and large scale implementation of educational projects in the field of learning and instruction.
